14 fall-winter 2021-2022 fashion trends spotted on the catwalks

Must Read

It’s back to school and we know the season is about to change. The perfect opportunity to rethink the trends that will rock our fall-winter 2021-2022. From the leather piece to the scarf through the quilted, decryption of clothes and accessories to keep an eye on.

The Fashion  Week  Fall-Winter 2021-2022 ended March 10, 2021. It is high time to reverse the trends spotted on the catwalks for next season.

And the good news is, some of them will just have to dig into your own closets.

  • The new women’s wardrobe for fall-winter 2021-2022

Even if most of the collections presented have given pride of place to the traditional winter wardrobe – capes , woolen coats, leather coats , trench coats – other flagship pieces have succeeded, such as the fringed dress that makes a back noticed.

This season, the creators have been keen to highlight a new conception of femininity, far removed from normative shackles.

The wardrobe for women is becoming more complex, more fluid, and is in the image of contemporary social realities.

The woman for next winter oscillates between fun and elegance, wants to experience the day as if it were night and the night as if it would never take place. A need for lightness that should resonate with many women.

Discover the trends for fall-winter 2021-2022 in the following slideshow.

1 / 15 The leather piece

This is the subject of the last two years.  If the leather coat has made a comeback in our locker rooms this winter, for the fall-winter 2021-2022 the material extends to the entire locker room.

Starting with the leather blazer jacket as imagined by Matthew Williams, the new artistic director of Givenchy, or the leather jacket with oversized hood  by  Schiaparelli .

We will also highlight the trapeze dress in perfection-style leather imagined by Simone Rocha, who has reinvented the leather coat for her winter collection .

2 / 15 The fringed dress

Pandemic or not, the designers seem determined to make us dance. And in what other outfit than the fringed dress , a fashion symbol of the frenzied nights of the 1920s , to encourage us to dance?

We love the working girl version imagined by the Hermès house , we are exhilarated at the sight of the shocking pink one by Thebe Magugu without forgetting the turtleneck dress-sweater version designed by Kim Jones for Fendi .

3 / 15 The return of primary colors

In the closet, the total black look . This fall-winter the color will be there. In our primary shades of green, red and blue, green, red, blue like those seen on the Ferragamo , Chanel or Isabel Marant fashion shows .

We dare technicolor as a bulwark against the cold.

4 / 15 The transparent dress

Since 2020, the silhouettes have become lighter. As a result of covid-19, failing to take advantage of the outdoors, we tend to oscillate between a jogging- style uniform or light clothing.

No wonder then to see the transparent dress making a comeback. Heralding better days – and especially sleepless nights to come – the piece frees movement and is intended as an ornament of the body.

We particularly appreciate the duo’s version behind Coperni, without forgetting the honeycomb sweater dress designed by Valentino or the braided dress by Givenchy.

Video of the day:

5 / 15 Mitten sleeves

It is by little touch that the grunge spirit will sneak into our locker rooms for fall-winter 2021-2022.

And it is the mitten sleeves , these long sleeves which have an opening to pass the thumb, which have found their place.

A detail that can be found in particular at Marine Serre , in its now cult half-moon print , at Nina Ricci in a soft-touch lilac version and at Coperni in a fluorescent yellow nylon that should brighten up your winter.

6 / 15 Faux fur

Because they protect the cold with style, the faux fur jacket or coat are now essentials in the feminine wardrobe. If until now color has dominated the dressing of these pieces, for next season the brands have returned to the basics.

We salute the version of Dries Van Noten whose fur runs from the shoulders to the sleeves, the ultra-glamorous Givenchy one without forgetting the version of Prada that can be worn off the shoulders. The class.

7 / 15 The Lilac

The fall-winter 2021-2022 winter will be as soft as the lilac color that will dress our silhouettes. A nice contrast compared to the primary colors that have inspired other designers.

One of the favorites? The quilted jacket and pants set designed by Miu Miu and perfect for a mountain vacation.

We also note the dresses imagined by Givenchy and Ferragamo. The first one ? a long, bodycon and semi-sheer dress should be fine for chic days like candlelit dinners.

The second is a slit and asymmetrical dress , can be worn as easily with a pair of ankle boots as with high boots.

8 / 15 The scarf

Between femme fatale and babushka. It is these two extreme imaginaries that fashion has decided to place its cursor when it comes to the scarf. Since it was worn by ASAP Rocky in 2019, the scarf has never ceased to inspire designers.

This season, of course, there is Dior . The French house has made the scarf a dramatic ornament that conceals all of the hair except a lock. An echo of black films and sensuality that should not fail to find takers.

There is also Preen, the British label which opts for an inspiration closer to the clothing “folklore” of the countries of the East. The scarf is flowery and frames a face left naked.

At Max Mara, on the other hand, it is rather the golden age of Italian cinema that is evoked with the oversized sunglasses in the fashion of the 70s . In short, whatever the inspiration, next winter, the bob is the order of the day.

9 / 15 The mesh set

It was no doubt Katie Holmes who showed us that there is no shortage of style in the knitwear set . If for her part, the actress had opted for a cardigan and her matching top signed by the New York label Khaite, the brands seem to have wanted to extend softness and comfort to our entire wardrobe.

First there is Balmain and his asymmetrical khaki green ensemble. With its slit skirt that follows the body lines and its golden chain belt, the French house led by Olivier Rousteing has hit hard.

We can also think of Blumarine, the Italian label whose parade for autumn-winter 2021-2022 has caused a lot of talk on the web. The sexy double-breasted cardigan and lilac shorts set should convince more than one.

The highlight of the show is undoubtedly Fendi who has presented several knitwear sets this season. We appreciate the taupe-colored ensemble whose top clears the shoulders and is worn over a long mesh skirt . Softness and elegance are definitely there.

10 / 15 The “catsuit”

We can’t thank anyone other than Marine Serre for doing catsuits , the whole decade. At Prada, we like it with high glue and dressed in a floral pattern.

On the Givenchy side, Matthew William has opted for a combination-style outfit that leaves little to the imagination.

And, finally, the all in sequins set designed by Rick Owens for fall-winter 2021-2022 deserves all the eyes that will fall on him.

11 / 15 Everything that shines

No need for the spotlight when you shine yourself with a thousand sparkles. At least that’s what many designers reminded us of during the fall-winter 2021-2022 fashion shows.

We highlight the red sequined costume  signed Dries Van Noten without forgetting the Givenchy dress (yes again) and its flamboyant gradient and to finish the lurex dress signed Chanel.

12 / 15 Extra long sleeves

Edgy nonchalance. This is the allure given by the long-sleeved trend spotted on the catwalks of the fall-winter 2021-2022 collections.

We could also talk about bell sleeves, as is the case with the lemon yellow turtleneck sweater by Olivier Rousteing for the Balmain house or the tangerine shirt neck sweater by ACNE Studios.

Another designer to have adopted the trend, JW Anderson who made it the dress of his avant-garde Amazons. We adopt.

13 / 15 Lozenges

It is the motif of next winter to the point that it is found on several types of pieces.

There is the Dior evening dress that makes you want to lead the life of a castle or the black and white coat designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli at Valentino .

The more discreet will opt for the accessory version like her Andrea Kronthaler socks for Vivienne Westwood.

14 / 15 Leopard coat

A cloakroom is not complete if it does not include a leopard coat . Sorry, we don’t make the rules.

The leopard coat suits a rock look as much as a more glamorous silhouette as shown by Anna Sui, the Italian label Etro and the house of Dior.

15 / 15 Quilted coat

It has now been two winter seasons that the quilted coat has been essential in our wardrobes. It must be said that its aesthetic is perfect for the present time.

A comfortable, light, stylish coat. He wraps up as much as he draws the body.

We love the Pucci version and its colors that break the usual monotony of winter hues without leaving aside the collarless padded jacket from Hermès and the almost Victorian one designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri at Dior.
